Engine Performance problem
1996 Plymouth Neon Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a problem with my engine stalling whenever I release the clutch. It starts no problem and runs fine when in neutral. Once I release the clutch the engine just dies, then wont start again for about 2 - 3 minutes later.

I thought it was the neutral safety switch but I was told that has nothing to do with the engine stalling.

What could it be?

Welcome to the forum. I need more info about the restart after stall. Have helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If you have good spark everywhere, check fuel pressure.

Check for codes, you may be able to get some codes by cycling the ignition switch, you cycle the key till the dash lites come on no further. On--off, on--off, on, then the cel starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes.
