My car will run fine till it reaches normal operating temp on the heat gauge then it will start missing really bad and die out. I grew up around cars and working on cars so I know some but I have changed the thermostat because I think it is over heating and that is what is causing it to shut down. And where is the water pump located is it ran off the timing belt? Thank you for reading and any help will be appreciated

Hi there,

I would be checking for any set fault codes and have the coil check as they can breakdown and miss fire when they warm up, they can develop internal shorts, this is a common problem with a lot of small cars due to the excessive under bonnet temps, if the cooling system is at normal range you won't have a problem with the cooling system.
