i have a 99 plymoth breeze, which started to give me a problem. at first it only started accelerating at 2000 rpms then it stopped moving all together. the check engine light came on only after trying to get it to a safe place in limp mode. now when i turn it on it makes a weird scrape noise. want to know what to start with or what it sounds like i have to replace

I am guessing the check engine light will give you transmission codes. You can start checking both input and output speed sensors, located on top of the transmission. Also you may test your transmission control module making sure it is working properly. Most of the time, the car makes horrendous sounds when it is running on limp mode.

But first, get the computer scanned.
