Backstory: Had a drained battery yesterday on the vehicle, when I tried to jump it, it was backwards, this caused what I can only describe as a "surge" (horn went off, lights, etc.), Went and got new battery, put in, vehicle would start but no dash, would not shift out of park, no acceleration, etc, had truck towed to shop. The shop says the "main fuse" was blown and took a day to fix, ~$700. On the receipt is says "Fusible Link is Damaged." Part is Fusible Link. I pick up the truck today and it starts, runs, etc, but it feels kind of sluggish and the CD player/deck isn't working. Also, the a/c takes a minute to kick on and it didn't do that before. It is also throwing code P2118, which when I look that up says its Throttle Actuator Control Motor Current Range/Performance. I ask the shop about this, and they say it will go away with time, etc, and that the vehicle is drivable, etc. I'm on a ~900 road trip right now so I had to take it to a small shop, not my regular place. I don't know if they screwed me or what, I'm really not that worried about the money part I just want to know if I can get the truck home. If I can get it back I can get it to my guy. Is it ok to drive that far?
Can someone please help me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've already check the fuses again, specifically the ETCS fuse (i think?). I'm reading that it could be damage the ECM? I know next to nothing about auto repair, less about electrical stuff, so I'm really in the dark here (no pun intended). Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Another thing that is weird is now on a full gas tank it shows I would get ~550 miles today when before it would only show ~470ish or so. It's like it's not calculating the miles I would get correctly? Just a side note.
