Got this car back in November 2022, didn’t have any problems aside from replacing tires and an oil change; car had been sitting a few months. I was using it for work, a small 15-mile commute. One day it overheats, bad, car shuts itself off, bit of white smoke. So far, I’ve replaced thermostat, water pump, added new coolant, and given it a second oil change. It’s still overheating. A/C and heater weren’t working properly until I replaced the T-Stat and Filter. What could be the issue and how would I go about finding it?

Hi,

First, will it overheat if you are driving at highway speeds, or does it only happen in stop and go traffic?

Next, if it is in stop and go traffic, do you hear the cooling fan turn on when the engine starts getting hot?

This will sound like a crazy question, but is the heater working properly?

Let me know.

Take care
