Output shaft speed sensor?

Computer said solenoid B was malfunctioning, I replaced it. Didn't help and computer said the same again. After some reading I found that a bad solenoid C can give a bad B reading. I replaced all 6 solenoids. Didn't help. Replaced output shaft speed sensor, didn't help. Can you give me any advice on fixing it?

Let's step back and look at the code that it is setting. Let me know what code it is and we can get some more detailed info about the possible causes. Most solenoid codes could be the solenoid, wiring, or control module but again, let's get the code and go from there. Thanks

Error code PO755 Shift Solenoid B Malfunction.
Error code PO756 Shift Solenoid B Performance Or Stock Off.

Okay. That is the torque converter solenoid and I attached the testing for it. Basically it could be the solenoid but there is also a possible wiring issue or even the PCM. The only way to know is to perform this testing.

Let me know if you have questions but I would run through this testing or have someone run through it because replacing solenoids only to find out it didn't fix it is not desirable. It is one thing if it is a sensor that is easy to get to but this is not the easiest job to "guess" at.

Okay. If they have all been replaced then that pretty much leaves a wiring issue. If you look at the last few pages of the testing that I provided it goes through what tests need to be performed.

Let me know if you have questions but we need to test for an open circuit, short to power or short to ground.

Hi,

It is located on the rear of the transmission.

Here are the directions for replacement. The remaining pics correlate with the directions.

OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED (OSS) SENSOR
Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor

Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Place a drain pan beneath the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.

3. Remove the OSS sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Inspect the OSS bore.

4. Inspect the O-ring seal for nicks or cuts; install a new O-ring if necessary.

Installation

1. NOTE: Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the O-ring before installation.

Install the OSS sensor.
- Connect the electrical connector.
2. Lower vehicle.

3. Check the transmission fluid level and add automatic transmission fluid as necessary.
4. Start the engine and move the trans-axle range selector lever through all gear positions.
