My vehicle has a problem and I do not know what it is. This vehicle has a five speed manual transmission. What it is doing is not going into first gear. It shifts to the spot where first gear should be, but it is not in first gear, it is in some kind of gear that acts like it is trying to start off in high gear. I can get the car rolling in this gear if I take off very slowly and then shift into third gear, because third forth and fifth gears work just fine. Do you have any ideas what is going on?

Thanks, but I took it to a transmission shop and they say it is either the cable or linkage.

I am super sorry we were not able to help you in a timely fashion. Yes both of those things seem like a likely culprit. Please do let me know what happens. Sorry once again.
