The standard transmission shifts fine in third forth and fifth gear, but does not work in first and second gear. Do you have any idea what the problem with first and second gear is?

Yes, check the shift cable linkage it could have worn out. If that seems okay then you have a internal transmission problem like a shift fork that has broken. Please let us know what you find so it will help others and we can continue with the repair.

Best, Ken

The rod seems fine, When I shift it into place that is suppose to be first gear, It is in a gear but it is not first gear, I have to give it a lot of gas and ease out on the clutch slowly to keep it from staling the engine, but once it gets moving it runs fine in what ever gear it is in, then I shift into third gear which works fine also 4th an 5th

It sounds like the transmission shift rod or fork is broken internally. The transmission will need to be disassembled and inspected.
