what causes brake shattering?
i have a '99 olds cuttlass and had the brakes fixed about 1 1/2 years ago. when i have to step on the brakes at 50+mph, they shatter. there is no squeaking, just a shattering.
thanks for your help

The brake rotors can't handle the heat and warp when braking at high speeds. They need replacement, not machining, and should certainly replace the pads...again. Clean and adjust the rear brakes at the same time to keep the braking more equal.
