The front signal lights on my '97 minivan with 127K miles also operate as running lights. No problem with the drivers side. However, on the passenger side, if the lamp is burning as a running light, I have no right turn signal. The indicator light on the dash will blink really fast, as if the flasher is bad. Or, sometimes the signal light works properly, only the bulb will not burn as a running light. Bulb has been replaced, ground seems to be fine, socket has been replaced. Any ideas?

Two things come to mind. The first is the flasher as you have mentioned and the other is a grounding issue. I know you replaced the lamp socket but that ground has to be very good.

Can I simply tap the ground from the socket and take it directly to the chassis to insure a proper ground?
