I have an olds with a 3800 series one non aspirated engine. I have an eaton 3800 supercharger from a series 2 3800. I am wanting to bolt it on as an engine accessory. I was told that to do so I need forged pistons and colder plugs and wires as well as an ecm from the series two engine, to pull the timing. I really need some input. Also I have noticed that the SC has a few vaccum lke connections and one to a butterfly valve. Everything looks to fit but I was unsure as to if I can run it without the vaccuum lines as a direct bolt on accessory? Is the butterfly valve really neccesary? If I am provided with helpful info I will make a donation. I just stumbled accross this site today. Thanks

In most cases the supercharged model will have forged pistons and forged crankshaft while the naturally aspirated base model will not. And I would definately hook up the vacuum lines as these are probably boost sensors for the pcm or fuel pressure regulator or something along those lines. In the case of the ford super coupes (T_Bird) the crankshafts were upgraded to forged pieces as they were breaking after 10, ooo miles.

Someone else here may have more insite to these motors than my self so dont give up yet.
