2003 Oldsmobile Bravada Half-shafts?

When I turn very sharp, both left and right, its as if im brake tourqing it and it is extremely rough and jerky. It also is making a very ugly growl while turning. A friend told me my half-shafts have to be replaced. If this is correct, how do I do this?

Yes, your axles aka half shafts are probably shot. Usually its the cv joints inside of the shaft but most of the time its more of a problem and just as expensive to change the cv joints as it is the whole shaft.
