How do I get the drivers side drive axle out of the transmission?

Remove the bolts holding the flange and you might need to remove the knuckle if the spindle does not make it clear.

The tripod part of the shaft has a male end that goes into the transmission. I have taken the flange plate bolts out.

The flange might get stuck. Tap the flange with a hammer to loosen and it should come off.
The part that goesinot transmission need nort be removed if you are only taking the CV shaft out.
