How do I compress the rear brake cylinder on a 2003 Aurora so I can replace the brake pads?

I use the old brake pad over the piston and a C-clamp. I also, allow the extra brake fluid to exit through the bleeder rather than pushing it back through the system. Just avoild allowing air to get into the system.
