Electrical problem
1995 Oldsmobile Aurora V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am working on a '95 aurora. First off, the polarity is reversed(i recieved iot in it's current condition). I unhooked the altenator and changed the starter which looked as if it exploded. Also the polarity is still reversed after new altenator and battery, and the TPS clicks like crazy when you try to hook up the battery. I'm ashamed to say I'm a tech, but am at a complete loss here. Hoping there is a similar case that treats me to a short cut as opposed to going over every single wire on the wiring harness.

Will the car run?

Reversed polarity usually means that the battery is hooked up backwards. For this car that would be bad, it could fry some of the computers, sensors, etc.

Now that you've replaced the alt. And battery; what kind of problems are you having, specifically?

Perform an ohm test on the TPS. Once the ohmmeter is connected (use the analog type if possible), open the throttle slowly by hand and watch the meter. If there are any sudden jumps in the reading, then the TPS is bad (may be the reason it's clicking). It should move smoothly from it's starting resistance reading to it's maximum reading.
