So I had my oil changed at a “drive through” Havoline and after that I noticed the underside of my care looks like oil is sprayed on it. Would this my my oil filter put on incorrectly? I know it’s under a lot of pressure and the oil isn’t going down fast but it’s going down.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Since the oil was just changed, either the filter is leaking or the drain plug.

Take a look through this link first:

Next, check the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan. Make sure it is tight and there are no leaks coming from there.

If that isn't the issue, locate the oil filter on the side of the engine and check there for leaks. Often times, the gasket from the old filter will stick on the engine block. When the new filter is installed, there are then two gaskets and it will leak.

Here is a link that shows how to change oil. I'm adding it so you can identify the different components associated with changing the oil.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
