I have put 2 new crank seals and still have oil coming from there. Any ideas on what to check for?

Good morning,

Check the surface of the balancer that the seal rides on for any grooves or dirt. Make sure it is totally clean.

The issue is that if there is a groove from the old seal, it will continue to leak.

They make a seal replacement with what is called a speedy sleeve. It is a piece that you install over the end of the balancer and it creates a new surface for the seal to run on.

You can get it at your parts store.

Would a new balancer be a better option than the sleeve?

It would but it is much more expensive than the sleeve.

Rock auto has an AC delco for $50.00.

I have another question about this. This engine is a re-manufactured engine that was just put in. The old engine did not leak oil from there. So would the cause still be a problem with the balancer?

Did the replacement engine come with the balancer? Most long blocks do not come with that. It is usually changed from your old engine.

Okay, I would either use the speedy sleeve or get a new balancer.
