Can the oil cooler and the lines, that need to be replaced every year or so, be eliminated all-together? I have heard you need the angle mount oil filter adapt. Because of the front driveshaft. Can a angle mount adapter be had without oil cooler lines? I have been told keep the oil cooler, but it seems that no one even GM cannot make a pair of lines that last more than a year or so.

They are aluminum so if they bounce around or maybe a broken motor mount may be the cause. You will need the adapter that goes in the engine which is just a screw that screws into block and leaves access for filter to screw on. But with the cooler it is best to keep it for more oil and towing package as this probably has.
