My odometer is not clocking miles so I am assuming I will need to repair the odometer gear. Should I replace the motor that is attached to the gear too?

After I had my odometer checked at the dealership I took it home and my turn signals didn't work. I took it back and they "hit" the signal part (the multi-functional switch) and it came back on. My hazards also do not work.
My question is, should I just replace the multi-function switch or should I try the flashers first?

Good morning,

Yes, I would replace the switch as it may be internal.

You just need to split the clam shell and the switch has two attaching bolts and the connectors.

As far as the odometer, yes, the motor was a common issue. The gear would only need to be replaced if it is damaged.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column shroud retaining screws and remove upper and lower steering column shrouds.
3. Disconnect the wiring connectors.
4. Remove two self-tapping screws retaining the multi-function switch to the steering column assembly. Disengage the switch from the steering column assembly.

Thank you! I have purchased the switch and the gear for the odometer. I can not locate the motor anywhere online. From what I have read is that it is not sold anymore and I would need to go to a junk yard. I find this hard to believe. Hopefully, it is just the gear that is the problem. Do you know what the little motor (attached to the gear) is called and/or where to buy one? Thanks

They have not made that motor for years.

You would need to get one from a junkyard.
