Grinding noise when making a sharp turn

If have make sharp turn hear grinding noise. mechanic said brake pad grinding into rotor when turn sharp.

This could be the case as when you are turning the wheel to a sharp turn the caliper can slide on the caliper pins and put pressure on the pads.

If the brake pads are making this noise then they most likely need to be replaced.
