My driver's side taillight wiring harnesses get caked with mud and i have bypassed it almost entirely. now I have brake lights and turn signal working, but the top and bottom bulbs that should be on like passenger side constantly, do not work. I have a yellow wire and a brown wire going to harness and have burnt their connections. It appears that I have a yellow and a black wire that need a mate past that point. I'm assuming I'll go yellow/yellow, and go brown/black on my wires to tail light, is this correct? I know I should probably take it to a pro, but everything else has worked fine jumping it directly past the harness..

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly where you see the wires you referred to. However, if you look at the attached pic below, it shows the wiring to the taillights. If it is a solid yellow wire, it's for the backup lights. If it is green/yellow or white/yellow, then it goes to the taillights. Take a look and see if the schematic helps.

Also note, it appears that all black wires are related to the ground.

Let me know.
