All of a sudden my left driving taillights are not working. The left rear turn signal works. The left rear brake light works. The left rear backup light works. But the top 2 lights should come on when I turn on the driving lights and they don't. So, in summary, all 3 left rear light bulbs work individually but the top two bulbs do not come on when I turn on the driving lights. All three bulbs on the rear left are the same model and are brand new. Ive checked all the appropriate fuses are they're good. What else could it be?

thanks.

Both rear lights have fuses under hood fuse box. Use a test light and see if right rear park lamp two has power on both sides. If it does it may be the body module and will need to be scanned for codes. A local pro can do this. The ground for this is at left hand side of engine block so check for a broken black wire at taillight and if it is ground to frame see if it works. If it does that is the problem or if trailer light equipped it may be the trailer light module as well.

It sounds like you have a BCM that is going out, but to be sure let's check the wiring by following this guide and the brake light and running light wiring diagrams below:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Here is the BCM location you will need to have it initialized which should cost about $130.00 at a shop. I would try a used one though first.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

Cheers

I have a 2005 chevy colorodo and the rear left tail light is out. I changed bulbs and still nothing. Checked all fuses, all good. I put a tester on the sockets and I get no power. One of the sockets looks a little brown. Any suggestions?

You will probably have to trace the hot wire under truck it may just go over to other light assembly.

The fix above was the "It was the ground after all" so if you check the wiring diagrams above here is a guide to help you test the connection and the grounds, the diagrams also who the ground locations as well.
