Normally a single click is the sign of a bad battery or a bad connection. As you have a new battery I would check the connections at each end of the battery cables then check the ground side as well. If you have a meter this can be easier because you can do a voltage drop test fairly quickly. To do that start with one meter probe on the battery positive post and use the other probe to test the points that the positive cable connects to. Both the terminal rings as well as the studs or posts. Now switch the meter lead to the negative post and test the various ground connections.
In both cases the meter should read very close to zero volts if the connections and cables are good. Anything over a half of a volt or higher and you have a bad connection or cable. Remove and clean the connections or replace a bad cable. In this case I suspect it's either the engine ground or the power feed to the starter.
