Went through same issue as another member had. Basically no spark. I found an answer that I believe might have been the needed answer for this issue on the same system. The cap that attaches to the ignition control module has fat very short pins. It is very easy to think it is mounted well to the pins but in actual is not. Before replacing all kinds of parts double or triple check that this cap is fitting and making contact. Had this problem.

Was not sure how to make a comment so I put information in this way hope this works.

Also, went out to double check the problem and found out the holes of the plug it self looked like the rubber material of the plug had at some time gotten hot or someone had spilled oil into them. Anyway cleaned up holes and all is well.

Thank you. The most common cause for no spark on this model year is probably the pick-up coil inside the distributor, especially when nothing else has been disturbed yet. When working on a vehicle that has had many hands digging into it without a full known recent history, your suggestion is one I had not thought of. Thank you.

Also, upon investigating further found the cap had either melted into the holes or there was grease in the holes? I am not sure I mentioned this so if I did sorry about the repeat.
