The truck has been setting since last fall when it was started. I thought I would clean it up to see if I can sell it. It will turn over but won’t start. I can squeeze fuel into carburetor and it kicks right off and run as long as I’m putting fuel in it. The fuel gauge doesn’t work now but did last fall also. I have checked fuses, fuel and disconnect relays but still can’t find problem. I have cleaned all ground locations in engine compartment. I haven’t pulled tank to check pump but since pump and gauge both do not work, thinking it may be a ground problem. My question is, where does both ground wires and power wires goes back to engine compartment from the fuel pump to provide power and ground to both circuits? What color are the wires? Is there any grounds between the bed and frame? If so where is it located?

Thank you,
John

Hello,

The Ground for both the the fuel sending unit and the fuel pump is Ground #104 which is located in the left fender well, above the ABS hydraulic unit. In the diagrams down below I have included a wiring diagram of the fuel pump and sending unit with the circuit highlighted for you and a description of the location of Ground #104 for you. I have also included a guide for how to inspect grounds as well. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
