Replacement engine cranks but does not start?

Replaced engine, the new engine will not crank over, power tests good at starter but don’t have anything on the excite wire. If I supply ground to the starter system, when the helper turns the key, it will click as if it has a drained battery but nothing without supplying ground.

I would see if the engine turns over by hand first, then I would swap out the starter relay here is the starter wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. This guide may help as well:

That problem solved, the equinox runs and drives, I have no power steering could you help me out with diagnosing this?
