I was replacing the battery in my truck. Was in a rush and put the neg. Terminal on first then the positive side like a dummy. Well thats when the positive side battery terminal began to smoke. Now the truck wont start. The head lights turn on and it gets power to the radio. But dosent turn over. Dont know if I shorted any thing. Check all the fuses inside the truck and they were all fine. It smoked from these connectors I dont know what there called relays maybe that are connected to the positive side terminal. Woud really appreciat your help need to get it running soon for work. On a tight budget hopefully its nothing to bad. Thank you for you help vince

Ouch, hopefully you didn't smoke the PCM.

Here is the starting wiring diagram.

Focus on the fusible link on the lower right of the diagram.

PCM is Power control module aka computer.

The fusible link is something like a breaker on a house, it will default before trouble happens down the line.

Not sure on this one, but fusible link may look like normal wire.

Check for continuity between the two ends of it.
My guess is that it fried the link.
