In my truck the owner before me put power locks in and now it seems like no power is going to the locks because if I press the lock/unlock button in the truck they don't work. Was wondering what could be happening there.

Hi chelc99,

Thank you for the donation.

What system was installled is not available to us so we have to go by the basics.

Possible causes of the power lock not working are :

1. Power supply. You have to locate the door lock control unit to test for power supply.

2. Faulty lock /unlock switch. Most after market door lock actuator for the driver door is a 5 wire item. 2 wires are for the actuator motor, to lock and unlock.
The other 3 wires are 1 for ground, 1 for locking when grounded and the other for unlocking.

You would have to perform test to determine what is missing or faulty.
