1986 Nissan Truck Electrical problem

When turning off the engine and pulling the key from the ignition the battery light comes on. A buzzing sound comes from around the carburator.

try unplugging the alternator to see if it is back feeding through the dash. get back to us

I unpluged the alternator as you suggested and the battery light went out.

Does this mean the alternator is bad?

that would be my assumption. if that doesnt work get back to me, but i think that will work
