1986 Nissan Truck Electrical problem

When turning off the engine and pulling the key from the ignition the battery light comes on. A buzzing sound comes from around the carburator.

Try unplugging the alternator to see if it is back feeding through the dash. Get back to us

I unpluged the alternator as you suggested and the battery light went out.

Does this mean the alternator is bad?
