Stalls when I give it gas?

My 1997 Nissan Sentra has had no problems before the last couple months. For a couple weeks, when I would go to start it, it would not turn over. After 5 or 6 tries it would finally turn over and start up. After a couple of weeks, this problem went away and the car has been fine again.
Yesterday, as I was slowing and pulling into a parking spot, the car stalled out. I managed to start it again just fine. But every time I went to give it gas, the car would stall out. A few hours later I tried again. I put it in reverse and managed to move it a couple inches before it stalled out again.
The only other problem I notice with it is that for the last couple years, the car is hard to start when the AC is on and loses some acceleration power too. I had been using my AC when the car initially stalled out yesterday.
Any ideas?

Hi thejaneomahs,

If the idling speed is very low with AC on, then you have to check the AC booster and IAC valve.

If the engine ignition timing is too retarded, accelerating power would be much affected with load.

When was the last time you tuned up the engine?

It has actually been about 2 years since this car had a good tune up. I figured that this may be the problem (maybe some fuel system, air system or electric system issues).

Thanks for your help. Sounds like I just need a good tune up here and a systems check
