Replaced shift control solenoid after transmission failed to shift out of first gear. Still doesn't change gears. Notiice round cylinder on top of transmission that has two green wires leading to grey male electrical connector that mates with a grey connector with red and green wires. Should I change this also or what else could be the problem?

Hi lheyward,

Thank you for the donation.

Replacing parts without understanding if it is the cause is going to be costly

Here are possible causes for the problem.

Inhibitor switch or control linkage misadjusted,
Damaged control valve assembly, brake band or
shift solenoid "A".
Incorrect revolution or speed sensor signal.
