1994 Nissan Sentra

I have a 94 sentra, the tansmisson won't shift passed 1st gear, could it be my filter needs to be replaced?

Could it be my filter needs to be replaced? Hard to say-check the fluid level and condition of it if okay take it in and get it pressure tested this will tell you what's really going on with the tranny. Also check the throttle and vehicle speed sensor-
