My service ingine soon light came on in my 2000 nissan maxima se and I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed my car with Igintion System Failure and that the coil packs need to be replaced. They want to charge me almost a grand. Is this right? Can anyone give me any information to this because my car is running fine, it is not hesitating, making noises etc.

Coils are expensive and if you have a 6 cylinder car you need 6 coils so each is around 150$ that comes to around 900$. I had to replace one coil on my nissan sentra it was 150$. But I don't see why you need to change all 6 of them. Just change the ones that don't work properly and I don't think that all 6 are bad.
