i took my car in for an oil change and I was told that I have an engine leak and oil is over the under part of the engine and they refused to change the oil before I get the leak fixed. They could not tell where the leak was from and i'm wondering what it could be and the average cost to fix it?

Hard to say. Take it to another place and have them check it out. Get three quotes from diffrent places if you can.
