1994 Nissan Maxima filters

I went to by my transmission filter and they sold me the proper one however the tranny i have has its pan on the top of the transmission and i nor the kragen guy can find the proper gasket... Do I need to remove the entire tranny or what...

Nissan trans are supposed to have maintenance free filters. Is the filter you bought with a metal strainer plate with a lot of large holes? If yes, you need you need to strip the tran bare to replace it.
