1989 Nissan Hardbody High idle

My okd truck is idling high and will not kick down after
warmed up. I have adjusted idle and does not help.
Should I replace the carb. or is this a common thing
that has some troubleshooting that can be done.

High idle can be caused by vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses for cracks, use carb cleaner and spray on suspected hoses, if idle changes, then that is bad hose.
