I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier 2.4 L, 2WD, with 216,000 miles. I just replaced the waterpump, drove about 500 miles, engine died, rpm's went crazy. I pulled over it would still turn over, so I thought I may have no compression, my timing chain went out, or I cracked a block. Took it had the engine rebuilt (wow!) When they went to start it, it was not getting fuel. I am thinking that may have been the original problem. Is there a relay switch, how do you know if the relay switch is bad, or the fuel pump is bad. It already cost $5k for the rebuild, due to having the heater core, motor and transmission mounts, changed. I am wondering the average cost if it is determined to be the fuel pump, versus the relay. Thanks, for any help.61 year old grandma that works on the cars!
