I have a 2003 Nissan Altima with the 2.5L engine with 76000 miles. Every once in a while I notice that while driving the engine cuts off and all thats left on is the little red light that says brake on the dash. Its seems to do it when I'm slowing down only. I read about a recall that involved a temp sensor that caused engine to cut off. Anyone have any ideas on where to even start with this?

Do you have an OBD2 code/s meaning CEL/MIL/SES
Have the idle speed controller, throttle positon sensor and EGR system check

I had the same problem with my 2003 2.5L S and it was a faulty crank angle sensor I guess there was a massive recall on it I took it in to the Nissan dealership they fixed it and I havent had any problems since then! My brake light came on as well everything you are describing is exactly what happened to mine! Hope this helps! Oh by the way the computer wont recognize it as a problem or something so therefore you have no code! I took mine into several places and they said there was no codes in the computer and in the recall it states that the interuption is so brief that it wont register a code!
