87,000 miles 1994 nissan altima starts up fine but would shut off at traffick light when drive gear is engaged. Car wont move until after engine is turned off for a while and then restarted. Sometimes engine acts like is going to stall and then would pick up and be fine for a while before problem sets in again.

Check the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.
