how do you know if a car jumped time?

If you take the timing cover off and see if the timing marks are not lined up. Also, for whatever bank jumped time then compression would be low on all those cylinders compared to the other bank. That is unless both banks jumped time. Then they would all be lowl. Also it depends on how much it jumped time. HTH.
