My car just died on me one day when I was driving home. White smoke was coming out my valve cover gasket. I had a couple of mechanics take a look at it and said it might be a blown head gasket. My friend whois another mechanic took the valve cover off and there was no water in my oil so he didnt think it was blown. But just the seal was bad. So we changed the seal, oil, spark plugs and wires. It would not crank over for nothing. What might be stillwrong with it. It has a new battery in it 2 but we I turnedthekey all my lights dimmed down. So I tried jumpstarting it 2help. It didnt do anyhelp the lights still dimmed down.

Hi, you need to make sure the engine turns over manually. If the engine is locked up the starter will make the headlights dim.

Thanks for using 2carpros. Com

It cranks over. I removed the 1st spark plug and turned the key. It cranks but it spits out a coolant/oil mixture. Do you think it is a cracked head or the head gasket. How would you tell.
