85 nissan 300zx. Was running fine and I gave a friend a jump start. Now my car wont start. Its a 5 speed non turbo 200000mi. The battery is good the ignition coil is good. I tried push starting and that didn't work. Its getting fuel but no spark. When I turn the key it turns over but wont catch. I tested the coil and that is fine. No clue what to do now. The security light on the dash comes on when I try to start the car and blinks. Im not sure if it did that before. Any ideas? :

Given the information provided, it's possible that jump-starting the car caused an issue with the security system, which is preventing the car from starting. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Fuses: Verify that all relevant fuses are in good condition. Look for any blown fuses in the fuse box related to the ignition system, fuel pump, and security system.

Reset Security System: If the security light is blinking when you attempt to start the car, it could indicate a security system issue. Try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes and then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset the security system and allow the car to start.

Check the Ignition Switch: The ignition switch could be faulty and not properly sending the signal to start the car. Try jiggling the key in the ignition while attempting to start the vehicle. If the car starts or shows signs of starting, the ignition switch may need to be replaced.

Inspect Battery Connections: Make sure the battery terminals are clean and securely tightened. Loose or corroded connections can disrupt the flow of power to the ignition system.

Verify Fuel Delivery: While you mentioned the car is getting fuel, it's essential to ensure there is sufficient fuel pressure and proper fuel delivery to the engine. A weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter could cause a no-start condition.

Check Crankshaft Position Sensor: The crankshaft position sensor provides critical information to the engine control module (ECM) to synchronize fuel injection and ignition timing. If the sensor is faulty or not sending the correct signals, it can prevent the car from starting.

Examine Spark Plugs and Wires: While you mentioned the ignition coil is good, check the spark plugs and ignition wires for signs of wear, damage, or fouling. Worn spark plugs or damaged wires can affect ignition.

Consider Timing Belt: If the timing belt has never been replaced or is overdue for replacement, it's possible that it has broken or slipped, causing the engine's timing to be off.

Yes, the ecu controls all the functions of your car, such as keeping track of where the flywheel is when you go to crank it over and when to fire which cylinder. If the wires were crossed over, any number of things might have gone out. Could have been nothing more than a blown fuse, but the easiest way to get the problem solved is through a qualified repair shop.

Your ignition has been disabled by the anti-theft device (which is indicated by the security lamp. Reset.
