Radiator fan runs at high speed within five to ten seconds after I start the car and stops after about twenty to thirty solid seconds and goes back to normal (I presume only because my temperature is normal).

PS: This is every time I start the car.

Please help I’m young and still learning.

Do you have the old body S40 or the new body S40? Let us know please. Also is the check engine light on?

If the A/C is on when you start the vehicle up then most likely it is normal. If it is not then the cooling fan module is starting to fail. I believe the module is part of the cooling fan assembly. As it gets worse you may have a condition where it stays on all the time at high speed even with the engine off causing the battery to drain.
