I have the U-connect radio with navigation and six CD changer. My problem is when the car is completely off, the back lights stay on, they also stay on when the car is on. But the radio itself will not turn on. The only time the screen turns on is when you try to enter or eject a CD from the changer. Nothing else, as soon as it is done ejecting the screen turns off. I have the Boston audio package as well.

It sounds like a failed head control unit. The problem is that you need a dealer level scan tool to talk to it and test it on the main bus, not the bus that the scan tool uses. The replacement will need to be programmed to the vehicle as well.
