My truck will start but it wont let me put it in gear!

I woke up yesterday morning, getting ready for work when I got in my truck which is a 5-speed! I started my truck and it sounded fine, I went to put it in gear and it wouldn't let me! I havn't had any problems with this truck until now! I just need help to find out what it is so I can get it fixed right away!

Does the clutch pedal seem to have a lot of free play at the top?

Then it is likely leaking at either the master or the slave cylinder and now it has air in the system. You will have to determine which one is leaking, replace it and bleed out the system.
