My horn sounds different

If you have ever heard a Cadillac horn on an older Deville, they are loud and very powerful. Recently, my horn is not loud and the sound is different. This may not make sense, but if horns were male and female, it sounds like a female horn! It' is just weak, not as loud and has lost its big powerful sound. Any ideas what may be wrong? Do you know how I can make my alarm go off so I can hear if the horn is working properly when the alarm goes off? Thank you.

Hello,

When the tone of a horn changes it typically indicates worn/loose components inside the horn, and it is likely to fail.
On your Deville there are actually 2 horns. One high note, another low note. It is likely that the low note horn has failed. That is why you are only hearing the high-pitched noise.

The horns are located in front of the engine on the left-hand side (if you are facing the engine).

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

The diagrams do not point out where the horns are. They look like chicken scratch. I need to see better pictures close up where the lower toned horn is so I can replace it. Thank you for the effort just the same.

Unfortunately, these are the only diagrams that we have available for your vehicle for the horn location and replacement.
