Car has damage to front. My high beam headlights are gone. The switch in car won't operate. Headlights work fine. Car has not started for two days without jump. Could headlight switch be in wrong position/draining battery overnight. High beams were knocked off/waiting for repairs. Pulling it towards me will operate high beams. Should I push bar forwards towards motor to turn off?

Hello,

Yes, push the switch towards the front to turn them off. If you pull the switch towards you to turn the high beams on, you are closing a switch to send voltage from your vehicle's battery to the high beams. If there is accident damage there, there is a possibility of wiring damage as well, and you are risking at the least a short to ground, which should blow the fuse, but it might not, and worst case scenerio, start an electrical fire and burn your vehicle down. Please fix accident damage or if you need to use your vehicle in the mean time, please be careful. If your battery's(+) terminal is unplugged when your vehicle is not being used, there would be no electrical flow

Thanks,
Alex
