I have a Z28 model that will not stay on. I have had injectors checked, changed fuel pump, changed ECM, computer under dash and checked Opti. Whatever it is seems like a simple fix.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

This could be the result of many things. First, if you are able to keep the engine running by pressing the throttle, suspect a plugged or faulty Idle Air Control valve (IAC). This component maintains engine idle speed. It is located on the throttle body. I have attached a picture for your review.

Next, confirm that you are not losing spark or injector pulse once the key is released to the run position. Here are links for checking:

Some additional thoughts. Make sure you have a 5 volt reference to the opti-spark ignition control module in the distributor.

Let me know if any of this helps.
