1. Hard starting. The car will crank for some time before starting, and I usually have to give it some gas to get it going and then keep going. Also, the RPMs will rev up and then drop down a bit, fluctuating back and forth, and then if I don't move the car, the engine will stall out.
2. Rough idling. When I come to a stop at an intersection, the car idles rough and the idle speed will fluctuate. This sometimes gets severe enough that the engine stalls out and has difficulty restarting.
3. Stalling. Touched on in the previous two points, but to expand on it here: The car stalls on occasion when I come to a stop, or after starting the car and then not moving from my parked position. It seems to happen most often when the car is "cold" (cold here being a relative term, since where I live, freezing temperatures do not exist), but has happened when warmed up as well.
4. Hesitation when attempting to accelerate from a stop. When I press the gas, the car will hesitate for a moment, RPMs dropping, before finally catching on and accelerating.
As for potential causes that I don't think are the issue, but might be:
The ignition coil, distributor cap, spark plugs, and battery were all replaced December 2013. One or more of these might potentially have gone bad in the interim time frame, but I don't think they generally fail that quickly. Also, the idle air control valve solenoid was bad and I had to have it replaced, which was just this month. I was hoping the replacement would solve the issue, but it hasn't gone away.
