The vehicle listed above had issues with burning oil because when GM made the motor they put the wrong piston rings inside of it. Therefore, I took my car into a Chevrolet dealership and I didn’t care about price I just wanted it done and wanted it done right. They were supposed to rebuild my motor completely. It only took them 8 days which was extremely interesting and I ended up only paying $3,000.00 which was even more interesting. Anyways I start the car after I got it back and it’s 1,000 times worse then when I dropped it off. It looks like they took my brand new brake pads, rotors, and brake calipers off my car and put junk ones on it. Along with my exhaust is now rotted out, broken in 3 pieces and pouring out fluid underneath the car. Then after starting it and listening to it, it has a timing chain slap. Also, there is burnt coolant in the oil which they claimed was “fresh” oil and all over the motor cover. There is a two year warranty on it and I never want them to touch my car again. What could this possibly be? Am I better off replacing the whole motor? Also I must add it doesn’t not over heat.

Wow!!! I'm not sure where to start. I'm not sure what they could have done to cause the exhaust issue. As far as the brakes, again, I have no idea why they would have done anything with the brakes. As far as the engine, what type of fluid is leaking out under the vehicle? Also, you said it smelled like there was burnt coolant in the oil. By chance, is there a creamy tan substance that is mixed into the oil? That could indicate a bad head gasket. See this link:

If at all possible, record the noise you feel is the timing chain and upload it so I can hear it. Also, let me know what is leaking. Is it coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, and so on.

Take care,

Joe

I have no idea what it’s leaking I haven’t figured that out yet. And I thought I uploaded a video and picture of the puddle under the car. Anyways, the color of the oil indeed is a tan/light orange milky color. I also uploaded a picture of what the radiator hose looks after it was returned and I just replaced that also.

Have you asked about the ticking sound? It's hard to tell on a video, but it could be a lifter in the engine. Also, does it say on your receipt what all was done?

I checked the receipt and it just says a rebuild, and my tires rotated. Which is weird because my tires weren’t even rotated. Just now realized the front passenger tire has a mark left from brake dust and it’s still in the same spot. But anyways besides the point, I called the shop and they tired to tell me they were shocked and there’s nothing wrong with it. This shop seems extremely sketchy after dealing with them. There’s mud all over my car even though I washed it before dropping it off. I also had brand new tires put on about a month ago and there’s barely any tread left and they’re smooth like they sat and did a burn out with it.

Hi,

You may want to consider contacting the better business bureau. See if there are other similar complaints.

Hi,

You are welcome. I wish I could do more for you. If you have a chance, let me know how things work out for you. I'm interested in knowing. Also, if you confirm the leak is actually motor oil, let me know. Keep an eye on all the fluid levels to see which one is dropping.

Take care,
Joe

Did they explain what the ticking sound was? That isn't normal.

According to them there is no ticking sound. I’m going to see how it runs tomorrow when I get it back and get a second opinion.

Hi,

If they can't hear it on their own, point it out to them when you pick it up.

Let me know how things work out for you.
